I love this time of year, there is just the hint of green returning and the birds are singing.

Last night I did a gorgeous online breathwork session for my ‘Pilates for Menopause’ ladies – it’s lovely to be able to bring this to the program as I think this is an element that is missing in many ‘health’ programs.
The ability to tune into yourself and reflect, building awareness around the choices that you’re making then gives you options and you can make changes from a place of love, rather than forcing your body into something.
It is the way forward to create transformation.
I’ve just been mentioning to the group that I did dry January, and I’ve continued with it – when I weighed myself this morning I’ve lost 4lbs – which for me, is huge (I never lose weight). I worked out that those couple of glasses of wine I was having on a weekend came to around 1,000 calories per week. Which over a month equals 4,000 calories – on average it takes a deficit of 3,500 calories to lose 1lb in fat. So over the past 3 months that has created enough of a deficit – WITHOUT changing anything else for me to lose more fat.
Food for thought, eh? It wasn’t like I was a big drinker either – but a 1,000 calories a week less than before has over the long term equated to a loss.
Pilates for Menopause – we’re now on Week 3 and this week looking at all things sleep and stress, two biggies for us women.
I’ll be running another of these fab programs after Easter – so watch this space if you’re interested.
I’ve also had a few requests for ‘Flatten Your Abs’ program too – so I’ll get cracking on getting that started too.
These sessions are proving super popular, and I love running them at the studio – actually, it would be fair to say, I’m obsessed with them :D.
We did on last Wednesday and our theme was ‘We’re all Connected’ – we did a meditation all about expansion (focusing on the Maharisi effect – see podcast), and then focused on creating connection with ourselves and in our lives.

Are all super busy – which is great to see. Remember I have a 24 hour cancellation policy for all studio classes, and you need to be booked onto online classes at least 2 hours before the class starts (or I may not have my laptop with me).

Today we are discussing the maharishi effect, a form of transcendental meditation which has been proven scientifically to reduce crime, violence and negative behaviour. Whats even more fascinating is that only a fraction of people need to participate (the square root of 1% to be precise) to have a profound impact.
