With all the craziness around the festive season. it’s easy to forget the true meaning of Yule.

Yule is a historical and cultural festival that has been celebrated for centuries, with roots in various Northern European traditions. The term “Yule” has been associated with the winter solstice, which typically occurs around December 21st in the Northern Hemisphere. The celebration of Yule marks the longest night and the return of the sun, symbolising the triumph of light over darkness.

Yule traditions vary across cultures, but some common elements include feasting, lighting candles or fires, and exchanging gifts. In Norse mythology, Yule was a time of honouring the god Odin and celebrating the Wild Hunt. Over time, Yule became incorporated into Christmas celebrations, and many Yule customs are now part of the broader Christmas traditions.

This is a time where we go into deep rest, and all the lights that we decorate our trees and houses with are symbolic of the returning of the light.

So, I do hope that over this festive season to take the time to reflect on the year that has passed and get ready for the new year.

Classes

Are now all finished, and will return on Thursday 4th January. There’s going to be a slight increase in prices for classes in the New Year. It’s been 4 years since I last increased the prices, and so much has increased since then.

New prices will be as follows;

8 Class Pass – £68

Winter Solstice Christmas Party – 29th Dec – is now sold out.

Soothing Sunday Sessions – starting in January. Using sound, Yoganidra and gentle movement. These sessions will be the perfect kickstarter to the new year to get you moving and ease your pain.

Wisdom Well

In the New Year I’ll be launching my brand new membership program where I’ll be combining the physical with the mystical and the ritual. This will be brining together all of the work I do for full body wholeness, this will go much deeper than the concepts described in my book and will hold you accountable to make the positive changes mind, body and soul.
