Season of The Witch – Part 2 – The Connection

Season of The Witch – Part 2 – The Connection

Last week I spoke about the witch archetype, this week I want to talk a bit about how to reconnect to your witchy self – October is the perfect month to do it.

Connecting with your inner witch, in a modern and metaphysical context, involves embracing and exploring your spiritual and magical self. This journey is highly personal and can be a powerful way to tap into your intuition, inner wisdom, and personal power. Here are some steps to help you connect with your inner witch:

  1. Self-Exploration: Start by getting to know yourself on a deeper level. Reflect on your values, beliefs, and what resonates with you spiritually. Consider what aspects of witchcraft and magic appeal to you.
  2. Study and Research: Learn about the history, traditions, and practices associated with witchcraft. Explore books, websites, and reputable sources to gain a better understanding of different paths and perspectives.
  3. Mindfulness and Meditation: Practicing mindfulness and meditation can help you connect with your inner self. These practices allow you to quiet the mind, tune into your intuition, and explore your inner world.
  4. Connect with Nature: Spending time in nature is a fundamental aspect of many witchcraft traditions. Nature can inspire and ground you. Take walks, sit by a tree, or simply observe the natural world around you.
  5. Create an Altar or Sacred Space: Setting up an altar or sacred space can be a focal point for your spiritual practice. It can include objects, symbols, or elements that hold personal meaning for you.
  6. Learn Basic Magical Techniques: Start with simple magical practices, such as meditation, visualisation, and grounding exercises. You can also explore divination tools like tarot cards or runes.
  7. Embrace Ritual and Ceremony: Participate in rituals and ceremonies that resonate with you. These can be based on your personal beliefs or aligned with specific traditions. Rituals help you focus your intention and energy.
  8. Keep a Journal: Maintain a magical journal where you record your experiences, thoughts, dreams, and the results of your magical workings. This journal can be a valuable tool for self-reflection and growth.
  9. Explore Herbalism and Healing: Many witches incorporate herbalism and healing into their practice. Study the properties of herbs and explore how they can be used for magical and healing purposes.
  10. Find a Community: Connect with like-minded individuals who share your interests and beliefs. Join local groups, online communities, or seek out mentors who can guide you in your journey. See below for my events!
  11. Trust Your Intuition: Developing your intuition is essential for a witch. Trust your gut feelings and inner wisdom. Over time, your intuition will become a valuable tool in your practice.

Next week I’ll talk more about the witch wound and how it shows up in modern day life. You may think that history doesn’t affect us today, but you couldn’t be more wrong. Things echo down through time and still influence us today.

Slaley Hall ‘Deep Chill’ Retreat – Next Date Announced

At the weekend I lead my annual luxury retreat up at the lovely Slaley Hall. It was an amazing weekend, as always, reconnecting to nature, stretching, de-stressing, lots of laughter and lots of food! We certainly don’t starve on my retreats.

We’re looking at a spring time one, on the weekend of Friday 19th – 21st April, £550 including all food and own room (which you never get on retreats of this nature).

If you’re free and you’d like a luxury weekend away with like-minded people then message me.

Most people have rebooked so I’ve already only got 3 spaces left.

Classes

Tuesday night classes (Barre and Pilates) will be cancelled on 14th November, as I’m at the theatre.

Events

29th Oct, 4-7pm – All Hallow’s Eve Gathering – Welcome the Ancestors

Dawn (from Shamanic Rebirth) and I are running another of our popular Gatherings, where we’ll be drumming, breathing and dancing amongst other things. Our theme is ancestral – this is a time when our ancestors are close, we’ll be inviting them in and gaining from their wisdom.

2nd Nov – Breathing Into Menopause

My next studio Breathwork session is all about how we can use the breath to help with symptoms of menopause such as hot flushes, bloating, brain fog and sleep issues.

We’ll then be going deep with a conscious connected breathwork to ask our bodies and our deep wisdom – what is it that we actually need?

**Please note both of these events are on Earlybird until 20th Oct, and they’re both selling fast. There’s only a couple of spaces left for both of them.**
